Dear Parents,
As Head of Junior School, it is both a joy and a privilege to lead our Junior School and Early Years. At the heart of our educational philosophy is a commitment to nurturing each child with warmth, care, and a strong sense of community. We believe that excellence is achieved through balance, where academic rigour is complemented by personal growth, wellbeing, and character development.
Our dedicated and passionate educators know each student as an individual, fostering meaningful relationships that support every child’s unique journey. Leadership opportunities are embedded throughout the school experience, encouraging students to develop confidence, responsibility, and a genuine sense of purpose.
We are proud to cultivate a global perspective in our students, inspiring them to think globally and act locally. Through explicit teaching, inquiry, collaboration, and service, our learners engage with the world around them in thoughtful and impactful ways.
Our Junior School is a place where every child is known, valued, and inspired to thrive. We warmly invite parents to connect with our KRB team. Your partnership is invaluable as we work together to continually foster a vibrant, nurturing school community.
With warm regards,
Rachael Symes

Your cooperation in adhering to the designated gates, parking zones and collection times helps us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the KRB community.

Alongside the KRB Bus Services, many families also use public buses, trains, and ferries. Sydney’s transport network provides a variety of convenient ways for students to travel to and from school.
Several State Transit buses stop directly outside or near KRB on New South Head Road, Rose Bay.
These services connect KRB to Edgecliff Station, Bondi Junction Interchange, and Sydney CBD.
While there is no train station at Rose Bay, students can connect via nearby interchanges:
Both stations are on the Eastern Suburbs Line, providing direct links to the CBD, Inner West, and North Shore.
Rose Bay Ferry Wharf is approx. 15–20 min walk or a short bus ride to KRB. Ferries run to Circular Quay, where students can connect to trains and buses.
Families from Watsons Bay, Neutral Bay, Mosman, and Manly may also use ferries, then transfer via bus/train at Circular Quay.
Many families combine modes of transport:
At KRB, sport is an integral part of Junior School life—nurturing confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of movement. The Junior School Sports Program is designed for all abilities, encouraging participation, enjoyment and the development of fitness, skills, sportsmanship, and school spirit. Through a diverse and engaging program, students are supported to challenge themselves, celebrate effort, and take pride in representing KRB.
Junior School students benefit from the expertise of specialist PE teachers who deliver a Physical Education Program tailored to the needs and abilities of younger learners. Students in Years 3 to 6 also participate in a timetabled Wednesday afternoon sports session, providing opportunities for active participation, skill development and quality coaching.
Each term offers a new selection of sports, allowing students to discover their interests and develop a broad skill set across multiple disciplines. The program combines school-based activities with opportunities for interschool competition through associations such as IGSA (Independent Girls’ Schools Association), where from Year 3, students experience friendly and inclusive competition. IGSA competition continues through to Senior School, ensuring consistency and continuity across our two campuses.
KRB’s membership with IGSA provides students with access to non-competitive Saturday games and pathways to higher representative levels through NSWCIS. In addition, students may participate in Randwick Netball Association competitions, further developing teamwork and resilience in a supportive environment.
KRB’s exceptional sporting facilities enhance every student’s experience and include:
For further information, please refer to the Sports Handbook below, which provides comprehensive details regarding the KRB Sports Program including available activities, training schedules, participation expectations, representative opportunities, and key contacts.

Our Sports team looks forward to supporting every student to discover their passions, build confidence, and embrace the spirit of teamwork at KRB.

Stimulate the mind through robotics, chess, public speaking, debating, and other cerebral adventures.
