Orientation Morning

Date: Tuesday 11 November from 9:15am to 10:30am

Location: Barat-Burn, the Junior School of Kincoppal – Rose Bay.

This is a parent and child session. Please meet in the Junior School Reception area where you will be warmly welcomed by our staff.

Transition Morning 1

Date: Friday 14 November from 9:15am to 10:15am

Location: Joigny Centre, ELC, Kincoppal – Rose Bay.

This is a child-only session. Please meet in the Joigny Centre where you will be warmly greeted by our ELC staff. During this time, parents are invited to enjoy our onsite Café 135.

Please note: if your child is already attending the ELC on this day, they will be accompanied to the session by their current teachers.

Daily Plan

The Joigny Long Day Care Program offers an extended day of learning and care from 7.30am to 6.00pm, providing flexibility for families while maintaining the same high-quality educational experience as the Term-Time Program. The day is thoughtfully designed to balance active learning, creative exploration, and rest.

Mornings begin with a calm arrival and opportunities for independent and collaborative play, followed by intentional teaching and group experiences that foster curiosity and confidence. The middle of the day focuses on outdoor discovery, shared meals, and rest or quiet time, supporting each child’s physical and emotional wellbeing. Afternoons are gently paced, offering art, music, storytelling, and social play, ensuring children end their day feeling secure, engaged, and happy.

Educators maintain a consistent rhythm throughout the day while responding to the individual needs and interests of each child.

Sample Timetable

7:30am to 8:00am

Sign in to Kincoppal – Rose Bay Early Learning Centre, collect morning tea and lunch.

8:00am to 9:00am

Children transfer to Joigny Centre.

9:00am to 9:15am

Morning meeting for children to discuss research and possibilities for learning contexts.

9:15am to 10:30am

Indoor learning contexts to projects or research.

Children also participate in Library & PE, Music or Mandarin.

10:30am to 11:30am

Morning tea and participate in outdoor learning contexts.

11:30am to 12:30pm

Inside learning contexts for projects, research and learning contexts.

Wild Time on Tuesday and Friday.

12:30pm to 1:30pm

Lunch and participate in outdoor learning contexts.

1:30pm to 2:00pm

Rest.

2:00pm to 2:30pm

Group time to children in class groups and teacher guided grouptime, including pack-away.

2:30pm to 4:00pm

Outdoor learning contexts.

Afternoon dismissal to four-year-old extended hours transfer to Kincoppal – Rose Bay Early Learning Centre.

4:00pm to 6:00pm

Afternoon dismissal to 4-year-old extended hours students, transfer to Kincoppal – Rose Bay Early Learning Centre.

Simultaneous indoor and outdoor program until children are collected.

What to bring

Please ensure your child has the following items:

• School bag with a key ring and small toy attached as identifier
• Small pillow with removable pillowslip
• Drink bottle
• Large box of tissues
• Spare underpants and socks placed in school bag
• Reusable wet bag
• Gum boots
• Recent small, framed family photo
• USB memory stick, at least 8GB
